Tessa and Jaclyn's artist statement

We want to capture the goodness of people. A small kindness can go a long way, things that may seem small or insignificant in the big picture can really help someone. Pregnancy can be a scary thing for young mothers or ones that do not have the money to take care of their child. We plan to convey the care and nuturing that people who work in pregnancy centers show towards mothers and how these mothers feel about the kindness shown to them. We want to shine a small light on their good deeds.

Sarah's artist statement

In this photography project, I am hoping to capture a moment where people's emotions are being clearly displayed through music. Many times you are shown a picture of a person playing piano or any other type of instrument, but you do not always catch how that person is feeling. Is he enjoying himself, or is he bored out of his wits? Maybe perhaps his music leads him to a different world of unconscious joy, that only in-depth pictures can reveal. I am aspiring to do that. My pictures will not only consist of people and instruments, but any type of music, with the emotions and actions associated with it.

Shannon's artist statement

Ummm...well hopefully this makes sense..

I wish to capture all the joyful feelings associated with parks in my photos. Parks are a place full of so many wonders for anybody of any age. They are a chance to experience the great world of Gods creation and I would like to capture all the beauty if it into my photos. This collection will be the upbeat side of life and how people enjoy it.

haha...That was a little stupid but I hope it was sorta on track with what you were looking for. :)

Ally's artist statement.

[mine isnt going to be too different from faryn's]

When taking these pictures for our project im going to try my best to capture music in a photo, not just musical instruments, but every possible aspect of music such as people worshiping, dancing, just listening to music, ect. Also I want to capture emotions that are brought out through music, how music can bring you down or lift you up and how music can help you through good times and bad times. By doing this I want to take pictures that makes a person stop and think. In this project im going to experiment with macro in different pictures.

[hopefully that works.]

Faryn's Artist's Statement

Hopefully this isn't all wrong:

"For this project, I hope to take the pictures in such a way that it captures the emotion brought by music, whatever that emotion may be. I hope to take the pictures at an angle that is interesting and entertaining. I hope to get a wide variety of subjects inside of my category. I hope to possibly capture action that goes along with music such as dancing or just the movement of playing an instrument. I could experiment with black and white and see which seems to fit the picture, but I feel like color would bring the pictures to life more, which is what I want. I want the pictures to look lively. The viewer should just somehow be able to sense that there is music being played in the picture."

Jennifer Hare and Victoria Helton Artists Statement

After a long winter who doesn't love the smell of a spring rain,or a cool breeze on a warm spring day and the smell of dogwoods in bloom. This is our meager attempt to capture God masterpiece in spring. - Victoria Helton and Jennifer Hare

We hope this is what you wanted.

Katie Simmons - Artist Statement (Partnered with Lacey)

When I take pictures, I want to highlight the difference between the ages. I want to capture the youthfulness of children, the vibrancy of young adults and the wisdom of older people. By doing so, I hope to show the spectrum of life through the ages.

Ben's Artist Statement (partners: Caleb B. and Daniel R.)

I like to take pictures of everyday things that you would see just walking down the street. I like to put them in a view that makes them look strange or unnatural that makes you actually look at them. Musical instruments interest me, because of my love for music, so I like taking pictures that screams a musical theme. Black and white pictures fascinate me, but I also enjoy getting weird color contrast in my photos as well. When people look at my photos I want them to stop and actually look “into” the picture.

Lianna Walker's photo assment(parnter

When I take pictures I want to capture the how setting. I want people to see the ball in differnt places like jobs and get the feeling of the how think and to understand what Rachel and I are trying to say. I want people to see color, objects and meaning. I hope this works.

Jessica G's Photo Project Paragraph

I am a little confused what this paragraph/assignment is but hopefully this works.

Adv. Photography Sunday, March 22, 2009

We decided that our picture project was going to be done outside of an abortion mill. Currently, there are Pro-Lifers (from countless backgrounds, religious beliefs, etc) who congregat outside of the abortion clinic every day for 40 days to pray for the end to abortion and a right to all human life. I hope to capture their conviction that human life is precious and must be respected from the moment of conception.

Beginer Photography-Idiom

This is really late, sorry. But I thought I would upload it anyway. Mine is "Don't let the cat out of the bag." :)

My cat put up a fight to get this pic, but after growling, meowing, and a few tries at the pic I got this one. I used natural light from windows and a lamp.

Thank you all

Well done all of you who did your homework, and thank you Rachel for letting me participate. I think you all have lots and lots of potential. Keep working hard and learning, and use your imaginations!

:)
Meg
p.s. This picture of me and my husband was done by Rachel.
I decided to put this on here even though it is very late. It is my "break in the pattern" picture. It is a library card catologue from when they used to use them. ta da.

Opposite Photo-Beginner meawhi

Well...It took me awhile to think up a opposite because I'm a lot of different things..but I finally thought of how UN-athletic I am..so I tried to be athletic here in theses pictures:)

adv. self portrait

So this is my opposite self portrait picture. I dressed up in these crazy clothes that we had used for my sister's bachelorette party. Actually this isn't totally opposite then me cause I am really crazy like this, but I don't go out in public like this on a regular basis( but yes I have gone out dressed like this or worst a few times:) I used the natural sunlight from the window.
btw I was wearing this hideous one piece outfit, the pants and the shirt wear connected!

im not normally quiet and still like here. im usually bouncy and all over the place. and i would never fold laundry either xD. i took this in our yellow room by the big window so all the light hereis natural light. i made it black and white because the black i had to keep the light from ouncing off the wallas much didnt work toowell

opposite adv. photo

I used window light to the left. this is the opposite of me because i hate dressing up and my hair combed like that...

begg... -self-portrait-

Well........ . I'm a Bavarian Woodsman. This wasn't really my idea and that doesn't matter. And I suppose there are many things I'm not and I assure you a Bavarian woodsman is one of them. The light is from my upper right! And just for the record I'm not really this odd :P

Advanced Opposite Self-Portrait

Ok, this is my opposite self-portrait. This is truly an opposite for me because I would never put gum underneath a chair. Plus, I don't dress like that; I am a girly girl. :) I used overhead lighting and a light off to the left.

Advanced Photography

I'm pretty much a girly girl and non athletic at all. So this is soo not me. I wasn't able to take this outside during the day liked I planned. So this was at night with all the lights in the room on plus a lamp to my left. Sorry I got it in so last minute.

beginning picture

Okayy soo here it is...im suppose to be a math nerd...and thats not me at all...i hate math with every fiber in by being..anyway i used natural light in both..hope you like it..

THE ANTI-ME

Here is my picture. I took this with the lighting from the back upper right corner. I think this is the total opposite of me. I'm not a real nerd and I don't love to study.

idk what the lighting is i did it outside

Advanced

The lighting was middle left lamp light. This is not like me it's a bit dark and I am normally not that serious.

Advanced-portrait

This isn't really an opposite personality other than I'm not a man but I had trouble coming up with something I wouldn't do so...
